Props from the shoot today. Photographing shiny metallic surfaces like swords is challenging. Having multiple of them in one photo, even better.

starting the year

Started the year with collaborative studio shoot. Dancer, old chair and other interesting props. Photos to be posted later. The awkward moment when you realize that low res faux-retro snapshot taken  with phone is better than any of the actual shots taken with your big and expensive dSRL

happy new year!

From the last photoshoot this year. Found this cool location with walls made of different colors and textures. It was pitch black with no electricity, so modeling light from Pro-7B and smartphone flashlight applications saved again the day. Photos coming later. Happy new year!

studio day

Original plan was to shoot outside but rainy weather once again changed plans. Long but good day at studio with three totally different styles, including the one with white furry hat. Photos & video can be found here.

Fear of Domination

From Fear of Domination band's promo shoot with post apocalyptic theme. Hellmet character was once again featured to the set.

This was taken at the cool looking metallic cage structure some meters above the stage. Great location for the futuristic theme but difficult to work as there was only one narrow path leading to the structure. I had assistant right behind me holding the stand & flash. It was also very dark place (hard to find focus with AF) but once again modeling light of AcuteB saved the day. Setup photo and more pictures after the jump.

Ahtolaiset

Ahti. From the editorial shoot for Nina Lahtinen's clothes in Espoo forest. This was done at the early autumn time. While scouting locations before starting the shoot, we were momentarily lost in woods. Never venture into woods without map & compass... :)

Studio session with flowers

From the first studio shoot with D700. Taken with AF-D 85mm/f1.4. 85mm with FX-body feels little bit too short for this kind of tighly framed headshots. So I need to start using more of my longer lenses (100mm macro & 70-200mm) for studio photography.
